Rainey Temkin, Ph.D

Clinical Director

Rainey Temkin, Ph.D., serves as the Clinical Director at Rosebay Behavioral Health and is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience working with dual-diagnosed and chemically dependent individuals across various settings, including inpatient and community mental health clinics. She embraced Rosebay’s deep commitment to offering those with severe mental illnesses the highest level of care, aligning perfectly with her values. Dr. Temkin’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Serious Mental Illness and Diversity and Community Mental Health from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University, supplemented by an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley. She is specially trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychosis.

In her practice at Rosebay, Dr. Temkin applies her expertise in DBT and mindfulness to enhance client well-being. She emphasizes the integration of insight-oriented psychotherapy with practical skills training to effectively modify problem behaviors and cognitive distortions. Her approach underlines the balance of acceptance and change, crucial for helping clients develop self-awareness, manage emotions healthily, and foster stable, healthy relationships. Dr. Temkin also leads a daily meditation practice at Rosebay, reinforcing the significance of present-moment awareness in reducing everyday suffering.

Vicki Lucas

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer

Vicki Lucas is a distinguished intervention specialist with over 24 years of experience as a Mental Health Professional and Addiction Specialist. Founder and owner of Equanimity Interventions, Vicki has dedicated eight years to reuniting families with their homeless loved ones and steering them toward recovery. Her approach leverages her own 26-year journey of recovery, allowing her to lead interventions worldwide with empathy and effectiveness.

Vicki excels in empowering those who have lost hope, helping them regain strength and optimism. She builds trust and fosters a supportive environment, focusing on not only helping the client but also educating their family. This approach teaches families how to support their loved ones effectively, without enabling destructive behaviors.

Nationally recognized for her work with high-acuity mental health patients, Vicki has been featured in top publications like the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, and appeared on the television program "Intervention." Her career is fueled by a passion to assist those unable to make sound choices for themselves, ensuring they receive the comprehensive care and support they need. Vicki's belief in the potential of every individual she helps acts as a powerful motivator for recovery and change.

Chris Hammett

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Chris Hammett brings over a decade of robust experience in the mental health sector, demonstrating a progressive career path characterized by a series of strategic roles. He embarked on his professional journey as a technician in a high-acuity setting, where he quickly recognized his passion for mental health care. Chris transitioned into more complex roles, including admissions, eventually leading to business development and marketing. His diverse experiences also include significant operational responsibilities at various treatment facilities.

Before dedicating his career to behavioral health, Chris developed his leadership and management skills within three large hospitality groups. This background in hospitality endowed him with a unique perspective on service and client care, which he seamlessly integrated into his work in mental health treatment.

Chris’s deep commitment to mental health is not just professional but also personal. He has been an active participant in the recovery community, beginning his own journey in Marin. His personal experience enriches his professional approach, making him a compassionate and understanding leader in the field. His wife, Christina Hammett, complements his work by serving as the regional director of clinical outreach and business development for the West Coast at Discovery Behavioral Health. Together, they are well-recognized throughout the treatment communities in both Northern and Southern California, maintaining a strong national presence as well.

Kristina Wandzilak

Co-Founder and Program Director

Kristina has been a pioneering leader in the addictions industry since 1995, founding Full Circle Intervention and Full Circle sober living communities. Respected for her compassionate and effective approach, she has aided thousands as an international interventionist, author, and expert on the subject. Having been in recovery since 1993, Kristina infuses personal experience into her professional work. She has been featured in the series "Codependent" on LMN and the award-winning documentary "Addicted" on TLC. Kristina regularly appears as an addiction specialist on "Good Morning America" and other national media outlets. Alongside her mother, Constance Curry, Kristina coauthored "The Lost Years: Surviving a Mother and Daughter’s Worst Nightmare," a candid memoir detailing their battle with addiction from both their perspectives.

Expanding on her widely acclaimed career as an interventionist, Kristina has turned her focus to the broader array of mental health disorders that are often intertwined with substance abuse issues. Recognizing this vastly underserved need in Northern California, she teamed up with her co-founders to launch Rosebay Behavioral Health. This collaboration aims to establish a premier mental health program in the Bay Area, providing vital support to individuals and families affected by all manner of mental health issues.

Stewart Bryant

Primary Therapist

Raised in the Virgin Islands, Stewart moved to the U.S. to pursue education on the East Coast and has lived in New York City, Tampa Bay and Vail, Colorado before finding a home in the Bay Area of California. Leaving behind a career in operations management, he pursued in-depth Buddhist and mindfulness meditation studies, becoming a certified mindfulness meditation teacher and a Buddhist meditation facilitator. Stewart completed his master's in counseling psychology and has been providing relational counseling and specialized substance use treatment in the Bay Area. He approaches therapy from an East West synthesis, focusing on evidence-based practices in combination with spiritual approaches to Wellness. He is a registered associate marriage and family therapist and a certified alcohol and drug counselor, certified by the California Consortium of Addiction Professionals. Stewart has over seven years of experience specializing in substance use counseling and mental health symptom management.

Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer

As an attorney, Charlie Litchfield specializes in protecting the civil rights of mental health treatment centers and their patients from interference by neighborhood groups and local government authorities. His career has spanned multiple executive roles, including Executive Vice President and CFO for various companies in industries ranging from restaurant and hospitality to legal and business services. In addition to his legal and business expertise, Charlie is a licensed real estate broker with extensive experience in the purchase and construction of residential mental health treatment facilities.

 

Charlie’s hands-on experience in establishing more than a dozen residential treatment homes and facilities has provided him with a unique perspective and valuable insights. Motivated by his passion for creating effective and compassionate mental health treatment environments, Charlie co-founded Rosebay Behavioral Health. His aim is to incorporate the best practices he has observed and implemented throughout his career, while ensuring the personal touch of a small and dedicated team. Charlie’s extensive background and commitment to excellence are foundational to Rosebay’s mission to provide exceptional care and support.
